Is the Cactus V5 compatible with Sony HVL-F58AM?
The Cactus V5 is compatible with your Sony setup. You only need to connect the transmitter to your Sony camera by using a set of hot shoe adapters.
Here are the adapters:

For your reference, certain Sony flashes only trigger a flash when the connection is validated with the camera. What you need to do is to first mount your Sony flash directly on your camera hot shoe. Switch on the camera and flash unit. Take a few shots to ensure the connection has been validated. Then dismount the flash from the camera without switching off the power, and mount it on the V5 (via the hot shoe adapter). This will trick the flash and make it think that it is still connected to the camera.
