It remains as "coming soon" since a long time. Any news about the release date?

Thanks

I agree, we have different interpretations about the meaning of "soon".
Also, I have a question: It´s going to be able to use TTL with the RF60 flash or only with the RF60x?
  • Will this update change anything about the 'language' spoken between the cactus and the flash attached to it?

I'm currently using a single cactus on a fuji and it works with a canon 600ex directly on top of the cactus (which is on the camera) but if i put a canon ST-E3-RT transmitter on top of the cactus i get a warning on the canon transmitter that indicates that it thinks it's attached to a very old canon camera so it won't do HSS.

I've accepted this and I'm using the cactus with a jinbei trigger on top to get HSS with a jinbei HD600 strobe which is all I really wanted, but I'd like to know if there was a chance the canon trigger might start working after the update.

    Thanks
  • I join falevian's question -- only RF60x with the latest firmware is listed in the TTL materials. Does it mean RF60 is not compatible? If not, do you plan a firmware update for it to make it work?

I was testing the pair of RF60 and V6II, a d it´s not TTL compatible, I downloaded the new firmware for V6II and the camera (Fuji X-pro2) recognize the tranmiter as a flash TTL, but when I connect the V6II to the RF60, you have to change to Manual mode or the flash disable itself (OFF).
That´s a really important issue. I don´t want to buy a new RF60x only for this. And the difference between both flashes is really small...
  • The RF60 won't get TTL functionality.  Cactus have already confirmed in other threads that it'll only be the RF60x that gets it.

  • I can't get it to work.

X-T2 and V6II with latest firmwares. First off, even with the spring plate removed I can hardly establish a working TTL connection between the X-T2 and the V6II.

Then, TTL measuring is very bad. Checked with the RF60X, latest FW. Changing the aperture does never result in a consistent exposure.

Above 1/250, I get banding and at 1/1000 and above no sync at all. HSS is off and can't be forced on.

  • I just upgrade to latest firmware and can't change hhs mode. there is only hhs off mode! please help image
  • @tommy_pol Please change the flash mode in the camera menu to FP for HSS, or Rear Sync for rear curtain sync.

    It will.

    Just not yet. :)

We will release the X-TTL firmware on the RF60 once we complete all the camera systems. Hopefully this means by the end of this year or early 2018.

Thank you in advance for your patience.

  • Good news! Are you going to launch a beta testing program of this new firmware? I´m interested in participate.

  • Thanks for offering your help @falevian but we will not have a beta testing for the RF60 TTL firmware.

  • Hi all,
Not sure if I am in the right subject, but my question is about getting off-camera flash to work between a Fuji Xt2 and a Canon 580 EXII unit with the help of the V6 II Cactus units.

I had it working perfectly this morning (no HSS, but that is OK).
And now, after upgrading the firmware on the cactus units nothing works. I downgraded back to the original firmware and still: nothing works anymore. So: help!

Here are the details of my set-up as it worked this morning:

    - 1 V6 II unit attached to the Fuji Xt2 camera-hotshoe with the new Fuji/Cactus cable (mini USB at camera side).
    - 2 V6 II units attached to 2 off camera flash devices on RX with Relay Off.

Both Flash devices were on Manual.
One is a Canon 580 II, the other is a YongNuo YN565ex.

Firmware on the Fuji is 2.11.
Firmware on the Cactus V6 II devices is 1.1.005.

    This setup worked just fine.

Then I read in one of these forums that I should be able to enable HSS, which would be wonderful. I was not clear on which upgrade to install. So here is what I did:

Upgraded Cactus units to FUJI 1.1002.
    Nothing worked.
    "Down"graded to 1.1.012.
    Nothing worked.
Downgraded back to 1.1.005 (the last working version)
    Nothing worked
    Factory reset on all units.
    Nothing worked
Last effort: re-installed oldest firmware then upgrade back to 1.1.005
Now I have everything working again, like this morning, but no HSS.

So if any of you have good success with getting HSS to work, I would appreciate a simple set-up instruction. For now, I don't dare to make another change...

    Any help is most appreciated!
    Nicky
