Bowens XMT500

Has anybody tried using  a pair of V6II plugged in to Bowens XMT500's yet? and do they work?

  • It appears that the Bowens XMT500 does not have a sync port so you cannot connect a V6 II to the unit using a sync cable.

    Can you confirm this?

If that's the case, then you will have to try what others have done - stacking Bowens' own transmitter on top of the V6 II (TX) mounted on camera hot shoe. FYI we do not recommend this as it is not how the V6 II was designed to function. However some people are able to use this trick.

    Thank you.

TTL or HSS not working on Cactus V6 II and V6 IIs? Be sure to check hot shoe connectivity by doing the <CAMERA INFO> check.

  • I only use the older Bowens studio flashes - with the Cactus only in Manual Mode by a sync cable or by a low power controler flash (1/128 power on a Cactus receiver) uning the Bowens as optical slave - in closed rooms that works quit well.
