A6000 x V6IIs x SB700

edited July 2017 in V6 IIs Compatibility
Does TTL work with the combination of Sony A6000 x V6IIs x Nikon SB700 (non-wirelessly)?
Does A6000 x V6IIs (Tx) + V6II (Rx) x SB700 work wirelessly (in non-TTL mode) together?

  • Hi,
You cannot stack any flash without the SONY mi (Multi Interface) hot shoe on the Cactus V6IIS. The transceiver have both male and female mi hot shoes.
So you cannot use your Nikon SB700 on camera with the V6IIS in between.
I guess that the SB700 is a digital TTL flash. So yes. You can use it as an off-camera flash with and without remote TTL, is your call. Use the V6IIS with the latest X-TTL firmware as transmitter. And the V6II with the latest multi-brand firmware as a receiver with your Nikon flash.
Someone else have reported in this forums a problem using HSS and a Sony A6000. I am not sure why. You can search for that topic.
  • Thank you lansa301
  • For the record, we tested the A6000 and it works on the V6 IIs for HSS.

And yes, you can mount a V6 IIs on a Sony camera, directly or with a MI shoe adapter on older models, and wireless trigger and control a SB-700, mounted on a V6 II.

    You get:

    Wireless HSS
    Wireless TTL

TTL or HSS not working on Cactus V6 II and V6 IIs? Be sure to check hot shoe connectivity by doing the <CAMERA INFO> check.
