By-pass AF Assist to Nikon Speedlight

I have been enjoying shooting wedding receptions with the cactus v6ii. The AF assist works good in most areas but struggles in darker settings. In that case i miss using my Nikon SB910 AF assist which is a laser grid that the camera can focus on much faster.

Is there a way to turn off the AF assist on the cactus v6ii and have the AF assist on the speedlight work instead when i do a half press on the shutter?

  • Sorry at the moment it is not possible.

We may look into possibility in the future, but we fear tweaking the signals this way would bring up problems in the main triggering functions.

    Thank you for your understanding.
