My fourth cactus doesn't work properly

Hi,

I bought few years ago 3 cactus v5 and 2 cactus kf36 + cobra  I have also an old olympus flash

All these flashs work fine with any cactus I have. I was very satisfied of this configuration until today.

I wanted a fourth point and I bought few days ago a new cactus V5. 
They communicate fine, but the flash on the new cactus didn't fire. 
I thought it was an issue with the stuff. So I sent it back to the seller.
As the seller couldn't send me a new one so I bought another one on another shop.
I received today and I tested it. The same issue occurs.

If I use as a TX the remote flash works fine but not the local on the new Cactus. If I swap the local flash works
but not the flash on the new cactus.   In all the cases the flash never works when it's on the new cactus.
If I press the test button on the TX the orange led / green led appears on both.

We can see that the hot shoe (female) is different...

    I am now checking with R&D and will get back to you as soon as I can.

    Many thanks for your update.

    I bought the first one on the dutch website photospecialist (very responsive service after sales which told me that this part had surely a defect ) and the second one on missnumerique (a french seller) 

    I really don't understand what happen. Can I be so unlucky to buy two parts with a defect ???

  • Hi Chrys,

    We randomly checked our current V5 stock and all of them worked perfectly fine. So it could well be that you were just unlucky.  Please contact both photospecialists and miss numerique for a replacement unit. 

    In the meantime could you send me the serial numbers of the two V5 so I could take note when I get defective returns from the dealers.

    If you need any assistance with getting a replacement unit please let me know.

    I can't tell you the serial number of the firt one, because I sent it back to photospecialist few days ago. The second one the serial number is :

    (21)C60504395

    So, now I just need to buy a third one and pray :-)

    Just a feedback of my new purchase at digixo.com.

    Following your advice, and after the missnumerique.com review confirming that the cactus bought got an issue, I bought a new one, and I praiyed god that this one will work fine.
    and it does !  (I'm Happpy :-) )
