SB-28 compatibility

I am using my Nikon SB-28 with the Cactus V6ii and it does not work in TTL mode. Whenever I change power on the trigger, it only fires at full power.

I saw a previous post on this from 2015 but cannot figure out how to use an older version of the firmware.

Please help in getting my SB-28 to work with my Cactus V6ii.

  • Hi Mark,

We have the Nikon SB-28 and we did not list it as compatible for a reason - because it does not run on digital TTL protocol.

In other words, the SB-28 only runs solely on analogue TTL protocol, which means it is compatible on the original V6 (MK 1) and not on the V6 II.

FYI these are the compatible NIKON branded flash models:
    Nikon SB-500, SB-600, SB-700, SB-800, SB-900, SB-910, SB-5000
