Shutter release with OLY E-M1 MKII - multiple fires

Configuration:  OLY OMD E-M1 MKII / 2 x V6II firmware OLY A001 / shutter release cable SC-C1.
When using this configuration the camera fires at random 1, 2 or 3 times when pressing the front button on the TX module.  Mostly more than one photo with one press.  Tried to press as short as possible but didn't help.

Comments

  • I did the test with 2x V6II and an OLY E-M1 Mark1.  All went well.
I also noticed that with the E-M1 mark2, after one remote shot (or 2 or 3 after another with one press on the TX) the buttons "info, OK, menu, play" are no more accessible (reacting) till the moment that I shut off the RX V6ii.
  • Nobody with the same problem?  Do you Cactus-specialists know about this issue?
  • Hi there Pierewiet,

What shooting mode is set on your camera?

Make sure it is set to SINGLE SHOT.

In the meantime we will also test this function.

    Thank you!

To help us better help you, always state the exact firmware version installed on your Cactus device(s), such as: "1.1.013", "NIK.A.001", "v.103", or "A06".

TTL or HSS not working on Cactus V6 II and V6 IIs? Be sure to check hot shoe connectivity by doing the <CAMERA INFO> check.

  • One other note, do not mount the RX (receiver) unit on camera hot shoe. If you have to mount it on camera's hot shoe, tape up the contact pins on the camera.

This could be the reason for the misfiring / unintended triggering.

So the best is hold the TX (transmitter) in your hand, and RX connected to the camera ONLY via shutter release cord.

Thank you and please keep us posted.

  • Hi Antonio,

Sorry for my late response.  This morning I tried with the RX NOT mounted on the camera hot shoe and now all went well.
    Thanks for your advice.
  • Fantastic news!

Thanks for the update. Just shout if you need anything else.

    Cheers!
