Elinchrom Skyport

Is it possible to trigger an RF60 and studio flashes together by mounting a V6 on the camera and then the Elinchrom Skyport transmitter in the shoe on the V6... If so it would then allow me to have "hidden" flash units in a shoot.

  • I don't know whether your proposed setting works for Elinchrom Skyport transmitter. But you can give it a try. If you have V6 in hand to test, please make sure to activate the V6 TTL pass-through..

  • I understand the  Skyport transmitter is not specific to any camera brand, hence I cannot imagine a reason for your proposed setup not to work, even when the V6 is not in TTL pass-through mode.

In other words, you should be fine.

Thanks... ordered both items should be here tomorrow... I'll have a play on New Year's Eve...
  • Guys I have received my V6 and RF60... perfect partners and work in conjunction with my Elinchrom kit without issue... However, you may find me using more RF60's in my work... Nice kit!

Image below was first image out of the camera with the RF60 off camera, V6 on camera - Nikon D610 with Nikkor 105mm AFS-D f2.8 Micro

  • Looks like you are hooked. :)

That's a great exposure for a first image out of the camera. I usually have to tweak a bit first.

Glad everything is working together as expected.

I guess I roughly know where I am shooting products... when you have to do a 200 image shoot you can't mess about tweaking each shot... it is usually 3 shots and it'll either be the first shot or the third shot and then I'm set up for the session...
