Non FP Setting

Is it possible to set the V6 to use the Nikon Flashes in NON-FP mode. I would like to have access to the full power available on the SB910, &800s.

Comments

  • Hi @fotopro2 despite auto FP mode is displayed, it's irrelevant.

If you set the flash to 1/1 full power on your V6 TX unit, the flash will fire at full power.

    Thank you!

  • My flash meter reads two full f-stops difference between Manual full power and full power in TTL FP using the SB 910 profile with the transmitter asking for full power. Am I doing something wrong?
  • Before we do any internal tests, let me first ask - which firmware veresion are you currently running on your V6?

  • Just updated to the latest yesterday. All 4 units
  • Not sure how to find the firmware version in the transceiver
  • Thanks for your help Antonio
  • Press and hold A+D group buttons while switching on the transceiver (either RX or TX is fine).

Let us know if the latest firmware can now produce full power at the same light intensity on both FP and M modes.

    Thanks!

  • Version 1.1.007 my flash meter set at iso 100 at 9feet away. On Manual I get f8 but with 910profile and TTL FP I get f5.6 Thats one stop better than before! With the SB 800 manual is f9 with profile and TTL FP I get f5. Still about 1stop.
  • Thanks for the Great Support!
  • Just a thought. Is it possible that there's an auto vs manual flash zoom issue here?
  • Could you try your test again but this time setting the SB-910 from the flash meter at 1 meter (3.28 ft) apart?

And when you switch between the TTL FP mode to M mode, make sure the zoom stays the same.

    Thanks!
