Phottix Mitros, Odin for Canon and a Panasonic camera

I have a Phottix Mitros flash for Canon which I can trigger in manual on my Panasonic GX7. I also have a Odin receiver for Canon.

Can the v6 trigger the Mitros/Odin combo using manual settings from a Panasonic camera? Note I tried using an Odin transmitter and that didn't work - but the fitting's very tight and I don't think that it's mounting properly in the hot shoe. Because the flash itself fits and works, I probably just need a transmitter that fits better, and I wonder if the Cactus v6 might be a better alternative.

  • Hello Dan
With Cactus V6, you will be able to remote power of the Phottix Mitros for Canon through the Panasonic GX7. The design of the V6 is to fit for any cameras that use standard hotshoe or PC sync port. I believe it is a good alternative to Odin. In fact, I knew many people switched their flash system to Cactus. =)

Note, though, that one V6 on its own will not be able to trigger your Mitros/Odin combo, since the V6 is not compatible with the Odin receiver.

You'll need two V6, to get a working system for your flash.
  • Thanks for the remind, Class A.  ;)

@redbone, FYI we regularly mount V6 on a Panasonic Lumix GH2 and GX1. So the fit is nice and secure.

To help us better help you, always state the exact firmware version installed on your Cactus device(s), such as: "1.1.013", "NIK.A.001", "v.103", or "A06".

TTL or HSS not working on Cactus V6 II and V6 IIs? Be sure to check hot shoe connectivity by doing the <CAMERA INFO> check.

  • Thanks for your replies. I've ordered a v6 and an RF60, but I will also order another v6 for my Phottix Mitros flash since the Odin receiver won't work
