2 different units RF60 Flash

Hi all,

I have bought one unit from a store here in Ireland and one from Gadget Infinty.

This morning I was putting velcro on one of the units to attach gels and noticed that one unit lowers its flash head more than the other.

Did anyone see that there would be an update to the RF60 units for this feature?

I didn't read about it on any forums and can't find any reference to it anywhere online!

I have asked for an exchange as its still under warranty and am waiting on a reply.

  • Very interesting, haven't seen this before either.

Do you not like the additional downward angle?

I think it is a feature, rather than something that would prompt replacement.

On-camera, or with a light modifier, it can often be useful to have this extra downward angle.

I always thought the limited range of the original RF60 was a small downside, not a biggie, but nevertheless a small and somewhat avoidable limitation.
  • Hey, good eye there, @Garym5 !

The flash head indeed can be tilted lower. We made this change, amongst few others, as running change to improve the user experience of the RF60.

Unfortunately, we can't replace your existing unit with the one that tilts lower since it's only a minor running change.  Thank you in advance for your understanding.

  • I prefer the newer unit as it has this feature, minor or not.
I have arranged to swap it with someone who has the older models so all is good.

  • That's perfect!  Not everyone needs that extra bit of angle.

Thanks again and feel free to share your works with us on Flickr / Facebook :)

Out of curiosity, what are the other changes?
  • Besides the extra downward tilt angle, we also made improvements to the battery door, flash head mechnism, and tripod screw mount.

Thanks to the RF60 users who feedbacked us, we simply do what we can and try to improve the overall user experience of this product.

  • Thanks, for the info.

Does the flash head have a wider swivel range now?
  • The swivel remains the same, 0-270 degrees.

Whilst the tilt lowers approx 7 degrees.
