Just saying Hi

I've just become a convert from Nikon FF to Olympus MFT and have included Cactus in my equipment bag. I still have some of my old strobist kit and was wondering if it would be compatible with the Cactus system. I have 5 Yongnuo YN-560 II strobes and 4 Yongnuo RF-603N triggers.
I currently have 2 x V6, 1 x LV5 and 1 x RF60 Cactus units, will the Yongnuo strobes work with the V6 or do I get rid and buy more Cactus strobes.

Thanks guys

  • You can trigger the YN-560 II with the V6 but you don't get power control over them. Only the III & IV versions of this flash model support remote power control but only in a proprietary manner, i.e., not with a V6.

If you want to use the V6 to remote control the power of your flashes, you need to get different, compatible flashes. If you want remote zoom control as well, you need RF60s.

As Class A pointed out, you will need compatible TTL system flashes.  Or simply get the RF60 and save two AA batteries fro the transceiver. Plus your LV5 Laser Trigger will be able to trigger them directly just as they do with the V6.
