To help us better help you, always state the exact firmware version installed on your Cactus device(s), such as: "1.1.013", "FUJ.1.002", "NIK.A.001", "v.103".

For the time being, Cactus V6 (MK1) running on firmware version 2.1.001 can be triggered by a V6 II (MK2) running on Multi-brand HSS firmware (e.g. 1.1.013) but not by X-TTL firmware versions:  PEN.A.001 NIK.A.001 OLY.A.001.  No schedule has been released yet for an "A" version firmware on the V6 (MK1).

Cactus RF60X / RF60 Firmware versions A04 and A03 currently ONLY works with PEN.A.001 NIK.A.001 and OLY.A.001.  Other "A" version of X-TTL firmware will be released soon. For both Multi-brand HSS and X-TTL firmware versions (FUJ, SIG, SON), install firmware version 103 / 205 on your RF60X / RF60.

@NunoAlmeida we updated our Metz flashes for Pentax, 44AF-1, 50AF-1, and 58AF-2, but only the 50 AF-1 does not work after the update.

I suspect Metz 50 is the replacement model for Metz 48 so that's why both
does not work after the K-1 update. You will have to contact Metz for
confirmation.  But the technical reason is because Metz have taken out Analogue TTL, which is what the V6 based on to function.

On the other hand, both 44 AF-1 and 58 AF-2 works with no problems at all. Power can be controlled remotely via the V6.

FYI, Metz 50 with K-1 update works with the new V6 II. ;)

    Thank you.

  • Thank you, although I still have the problem, I am very happy with the way you are conducting the issue.

    Thank you.

On the other hand the 58 also work fine with V6... ;)
Joke aside, true and I am considering it, but would really love to have ALL my gear working.
    Again thank you, best regards
  • No problem, we have to find out too. So it is good news that not all of them are affected. Perhaps you can consider selling your Metz 48 for another Metz, or maybe just getting a dedicated unit for off-camera flash, such as the RF60.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have other questions.

    Thank you!
