It is unlikely that the YN685 will support HSS when triggered with a sync cable.

Have you tried mounting the YN685 to the V6II directly?
Just set the flash system of the V6II to Canon or Nikon, depending on what system your YN685 is dedicated to. The flash profile should be set to "Auto".

Both alternatives work for triggering. Remote power control may require the use of an X1 trigger. You can search the forum for respective posts from people who use the V6II in combination with the AD360 and AD600.

Have you tried the following power on sequence?
    1. Switch on the YN685
    2. Set flash mode to E-TTL
    3. Switch on V6 II to RX mode
Leave the V6 II to auto-detect before you start the above steps.

Please let us know if this helps.

    Thank you.

To help us better help you, always state the exact firmware version installed on your Cactus device(s), such as: "1.1.013", "FUJ.1.002", "NIK.A.001", "v.103".

For the time being, Cactus V6 (MK1) running on firmware version 2.1.001 can be triggered by a V6 II (MK2) running on Multi-brand HSS firmware (e.g. 1.1.013) but not by X-TTL firmware versions:  PEN.A.001 NIK.A.001 OLY.A.001.  No schedule has been released yet for an "A" version firmware on the V6 (MK1).

Cactus RF60X / RF60 Firmware versions A04 and A03 currently ONLY works with PEN.A.001 NIK.A.001 and OLY.A.001.  Other "A" version of X-TTL firmware will be released soon. For both Multi-brand HSS and X-TTL firmware versions (FUJ, SIG, SON), install firmware version 103 / 205 on your RF60X / RF60.

    Thanks!

You should use MANUAL flash (or the V6 II would detect it as MANUAL when you use a sync cord) - if you are running on the latest firmware.

    Thanks for the update! :)
