  • Hi @Steve,

We cannot switch off the pre-flash as that's a behavior of a flash in TTL mode.

What are your camera and flash settings? We are interested in finding out how a pre-flash ruining your pictures.

    Thank you.

To help us better help you, always state the exact firmware version installed on your Cactus device(s), such as: "1.1.013", "FUJ.1.002", "v.103".

For the time being, Cactus V6 (MK1) running on firmware version 2.1.001 can be triggered by a V6 II (MK2) running on Multi-brand HSS firmware (e.g. 1.1.013) and not by X-TTL firmware versions: PEN.A.001 and OLY.A.001.  No schedule has been released yet.

Cactus RF60X / RF60 Firmware versions A01 and A02 currently ONLY works with PEN.A.001 and OLY.A.001.  Other "A" version of X-TTL firmware will be released soon. For both Multi-brand HSS and X-TTL firmware versions (FUJ, SIG, SON), install firmware version 103 / 205 on your RF60X / RF60.

Cactus RF60 is now an off-camera TTL flash with firmware version 205 or later!

Metz M400 (for Fujifilm) is now supported on the Cactus V6 II (HSS and TTL).

  • Hi @Antonio,

as camera settings i tried : Fill-Flash and WL, the flash is set to TTL mode, otherwise it is not possible to control the flash power via V6IIs.

The pre-flash causes my models to close their eyelids, not very beautiful portraits with closed eyes.

  • Steve, an RF60 does not use a pre-flash (but can still do HSS).

    Thank you Class A,

but this is not an Option for me.
If i would buy a second flash, it would be a portable with more Power. (btw. any suggestions/recommends about that?)

But what to do with the second V6IIs now/then?

    remote shutter? oO

You could perhaps use the second V6IIs to trigger a Godox AD360, or similar, via a sync-cable.

You'd just have to make sure that the flash can engage HSS mode manually (like many Godox models do) and live with the fact that there wouldn't be remote power control from the V6IIs on your camera.

You should be able to regain remote power control when using certain native Godox triggers on top of the V6IIs but personally I don't like such trigger stacks.

Or use an RF85 (it's two RF60 on a multi flash mount). :D

Well, the RF60 is a tad more powerful than your Sony F43M :)
    GN 56 vs GN 43.

Yes, that could be one of the use, as a remote shutter release.
Or in the future you might shoot on two Sony bodies? who knows!
