  • I just updated my X-T1 to firmware 5.0 and Cactus V6 ii to firmware 1.1.005.
Trigger Cactus V6 ii and off-camera flash with Cactus RF60 are no longer sync, even at non HSS.  Flash always fired about 1 sec behind. Does anyone else have the same problem?

    Please help!
  • I have reset both V6II and RF60 but the problem still exist. Flash always misfired about 1 sec behind.
Does any X-T1 owner here still have FW 4.31 backup anywhere that I can have, please?

Perhaps I should try to downgrade it back FW 4.31.

    Thanks
  • Hi there,

quick question: I have updated my X-T1 to FW 5.0.
Now, with the V6ii attached, I can only select flash mode "TTL" or "OFF" in the X-T1.
When I remove the V6ii can select "M" (manual) and "OFF".

My problem is, with the V6ii attached and the X-T1 in flash mode "TTL" the camera seems to decide when to fire the flash and when when it doesn't.
In low ambient light, the V6ii and the flash (RF60) is triggered up to 1/2000 just fine.
But as soon a the ambient light get's brighter, the V6ii and the flash aren't triggered anymore at all...

Anybody else seeing this, or is it just me?

     Cheers,

    Robin
  • Oh, btw. with my old V6i the X-T1 offers "M" (manual) and "OFF" as flash options, with the flash firing reliable every single time when in "M" mode. Of course no HSS with the V6i.

    Cheers,

    Robin
  • Update: setting "Work Range" to "Short" solved the issue of occasional not firing the flash. With "Work Range" = "Short" everything is fine with FW5.0.

    Cheers,

    Robin
  • The problem I'm having is that RF60 always misfired approx. 1 second behind.
I have tried set work range = short but the issue still exist.
  • UPDATE: After removing the metal plate on X-T1 and set "Work Range" = SHORT on V6 ii, I am now able to do HSS on X-T1 FW 5.0 and V6 ii FW 1.1.005.. But my Nikon D3 can no longer do HSS with V6 ii and RF60 :(
  • Thanks for the update, @shutterbug

Hot shoe connection between the camera and the V6 II (TX) is absolutely critical. By setting the V6 II to auto-detect helps you confirm that at least at start up the there's a sound connection.  Removing the spring plate indeed helps with the connection.
.. But my Nikon D3 can no longer do HSS with V6 ii and RF60 :(
So on 1.1.004 HSS worked on your Nikon D3?

  • So on 1.1.004 HSS worked on your Nikon D3?

After reset RF60 and V6 II, my Nikon D3 is now able to do HSS.  It appears after I have been using V6 II (TX) on X-T1 and remove and put it on my Nikon D3, V6 II (TX) will not work unless both, RF60 and V6 II (TX), are factory reset.

I don't recall having to do that when V6 II was on 1.1.004.
  • Thanks @shutterbug.
To be honest that sounds a bit absurd.

However, did you first switch off the V6 II before mounting it on the NIkon?
If you did not, then the V6 II keeps the previously detected camera system - Fujifilm. So make sure you switch it off first.

Alternatively, you could also manually select the camera system to Nikon, before mounting it on your D3.

Please let me know if the above helps.

  • Thanks @Antonio
I always switch V6 II (TX) OFF before mount it to the D3.  But I will try to manually select camera system as you suggested and let you know.

  • @Antonio,
    Hi Antonio,

I was just wondering if it's possible for the next FW update when V6 ii (TX) mounted and detected Fuji camera then Force HSS will be automatically be at "ON"?

Yes, it is possible, but not sure if it's gonna be the next update.

Maybe we will have another udpate before we study Fujifilm's EF-X500, which we hope afterwards the "Forced HSS" function will be a thing in the past, as supposedly that would complete the picture.

So Forced HSS is only here for this transitional phase.

  • @Antonio can you separate fuji flash system? one for old fuji, one for new fuji ?

What do you mean by this?

But it is probably too early to say - until we get our hands on the EF-X500, we can't be sure what could be done.

BTW were you able to do HSS on both your NIkon and Fujifilm camera without doing a factory reset?

In order worrds, Is your V6 II set to auto-detect? Or did you previously manually select a camera system?

I have xt5.0 and xt10, I can't use same setting, because it not the same sync speed flash now.

    hope you can do it.
  • After updated X-T1 to firmware 5.0 and Cactus V6II to firmware 1.1.005, HSS seem to be very stable. It was stable during firmware 1.1004 but I made a mistake after updating firmware to 5.0 on X-T1 because it breaks HSS. But it was solved with 1.1005 however....

Powersync doesn't seem to work for me. I am using Godox QT600, a strobe that doesn't offer HSS option. V850 HSS wasn't stable before upgraded to 1.1.005, Powersync was perfect during firmware 1.1004. Now Powersync is down, HSS is stable. I need Powersync back... is there a way to fix it?
  •
... is there a way to fix it?
Yes, the next firmware version on the V6 II.

The Power Sync issue has been solved and we are undertaking internal testing before releasing the new firmware to the public.

Thanks for your patience during this time.
