Olympus E-M5 MK2 with Godox AD360 MK2 and Cactus V6 Mk2

Hi all,

I have an Olympus E-M5 Mk2 and a Godox AD360 Mk2 and i would like clarification before i buy the Cactus V6 Mk2. Will i need 2 triggers one for the camera and one for the flash or will the Cactus V6 Mk2 on the camera communicate directly with the Godox flash without the 2nd Cactus V6 Mk2 on the flash, as they both work on the 2.4Ghz wireless network. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks Andrew

  • Hi Andrew,

Get two (2) V6 II units, one on camera, and the AD360 II mounted directly on the second V6 II. This is how the V6 II was designed to function. So adopt this for best results.

    Cheers!

  • Hi Antonio,
I recently got Flashpoint SL 360 C(I think it  is a clone of Godox AD360 MK2,Canon version) and tried to use it with my Fuji X T2.I used 2 Cactus V6II ,transmitter shows Fuji camera, receiver shows Canon ,flush profile auto Canon.I am able to use it as a  "dumb trigger"however not able to change any settings of the flush wirelessly.Should not I be able to do it?

Have you already set the flash to TTL mode?

Also how far were you, or the V6 II TX unit, from the flash mounted on V6 II RX unit?

You may try setting the work range to SOHRT under: Menu > Radio Setup > Work Range.

  • Hi Antonio! Sorry to hijack the thread but it's related to omd em 5 mark II. I have the godox ad360 mark 1. Can I still use 2 v6 ii in order to control the power settings as well as trigger the flash? Coz I only have 1 v6 II and rf60x at the moment. So far I've heard ppl that they can trigger ad360 mark II canon/nikon version, but never heard anyone using ad360 Mark I non talk with em5 mark II. Thanks.

AD360 Mark 1 is single pin only, so the V6 II won't be able to talk to it.  Only basic flash triggering, unfortunately.

    Cheers.

You can stack cactus V6II with godox FT16. Change flash profile to Nikon.

  • I have a Metz AF50 flash for Pentax P-TTL, can I use this flash on my new Olympus OMD EM5 MII with two cactus V6 II transceiver to do HSS ?
  • Hi there Philip,
I have a Metz AF50 flash for Pentax P-TTL, can I use this flash on my new Olympus OMD EM5 MII with two cactus V6 II transceiver to do HSS ?
Sorry that will be a "No".

P-TTL system flashes can only be triggered by a Pentax flash due to timing issues.  The same is for Sony and upcoming Sigma flashes.

It's possible the other way around, if you have a Pentax camera, triggering an Olympus flash. :-)

    Thank you.
