Achieving HSS using X-T2 with hotshoeless Godox AD200

Am I correct in thinking that the only way to achieve HSS using a Fujifilm X-T2 with the new hotshoeless Godox AD200 strobe is by mounting a Godox transmitter on top of a V6 II and hoping this combo works? (I know that's not how the V6 II was designed to work.)

It's not clear to me if the AD200 will have a PC sync port and I don't know enough to understand if this would even be applicable to HSS.

  • Seems like the case, judging by reported cases with AD360II and AD600.

BTW the AD200 is not even out yet. LOL!

To help us better help you, always state the exact firmware version installed on your Cactus device(s), such as: "1.1.013", "FUJ.1.002", "NIK.A.001", "v.103".

For the time being, Cactus V6 (MK1) running on firmware version 2.1.001 can be triggered by a V6 II (MK2) running on Multi-brand HSS firmware (e.g. 1.1.013) but not by X-TTL firmware versions:  PEN.A.001 NIK.A.001 OLY.A.001.  No schedule has been released yet for an "A" version firmware on the V6 (MK1).

Cactus RF60X / RF60 Firmware versions A04 and A03 currently ONLY works with PEN.A.001 NIK.A.001 and OLY.A.001.  Other "A" version of X-TTL firmware will be released soon. For both Multi-brand HSS and X-TTL firmware versions (FUJ, SIG, SON), install firmware version 103 / 205 on your RF60X / RF60.

  • Yes, I know it isn't out yet. :-) I was planning to get a set of AD360 II strobes while they're on sale. I'm confident that those will work with my Fuji system using Cactus triggers. But the AD200 looks like an even better combination of size, weight, and power. I just don't want to wait until after the AD360 II model goes off sale to discover that the AD200 won't work. I know you guys can guarantee anything but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious.
