Pentax K1ii & Interfit Honey Badger Unleashed

edited July 21 in V6 II Problems
Hi guys, apologies if this has ever been covered or if I am doing something wrong.

I have purchased the cactus v6ii to bridge the gap between Interfit and Pentax as they refuse to make an HSS trigger for Pentax. I believed that it would be able to use my universal Interfit trigger to trigger the HSS on my Honey Badger unleashed, it works.... except I get a darker exposure over half the image, rather than black banding it is just a couple of stops darker. Just wondered if anyone had any idea why this is or how to fix it? It happens when I jump from 1/200 - 1/250.

E.g. The image on the right shows normal banding from the flash not syncing, the left however is not something I've seen before.

Thanks In advance

Gavin

  • What you are seeing should be the pulse shape of your strobe. The pulse isn't long enough to evenly illuminate all of the frame. As the slit formed by the shutter curtains moves over the sensor, the strobe pulse loses intensity.

Nothing you can do, except varying the strobe power. Depending on the type of strobe increasing or decreasing the power should make the pulse longer (but the exposure will never be entirely even).
